INSPIRE/ Disco & Divas: Studio 54

It’s the place where disco was born, and the inspiration of Preen Line’s latest collection. Let’s take a moment to appreciate the gloriousness that was Studio 54.

Often, the things that burn hardest and fastest are the ones that make the biggest mark. And Studio 54 was one such phenomenon. The iconic New York night club enjoyed its heyday from 1977 until 1981 - when founders Steve Rubell and Ian Shrager played host to everyone from Andy Warhol (As pictured centre, in the below picture) to Elizabeth Taylor, to Mick Jagger to Salvador Dali.

Studio 54 went down in the halls of fame as the symbol of 70s disco decadence. On one particular occasion, in a glitter explosion of epic proportions, event planner Robert Isabell made his mark in disco history - pouring four tons of glitter onto the floor at a New Years party. Four tons!

So with the 70s revival in full swing, now is the perfect time to adorn your wardrobe with all that sparkles, channeling your inner Cher and with it - the elegance, power and magic of a 70’s siren.
