Peghah Maleknejad
We caught up with stylist and Senior Fashion Editor Peghah Maleknejad to discuss her personal style and how she got started in magazines, whilst she picked her favourite pieces from Resort 19 to showcase.
If you could sum up Preen Line as a brand in a sentence, what would
that go like?
Preen Line creates beautiful clothes that feel romantic, dreamy and most importantly effortless.
In terms of shopping, impulse buy or investment item?
Investment item, I used to be an impulse shopper but learned that I never wear or use those items more than once.
Where did you grow up?
Toronto, Canada.
Saturday night: going out or staying in?
Usually prefer to go out...unless it's too cold or raining.
Where is your favourite destination to Holiday?
Anywhere with warm weather and beach close by.
Best piece of advice you've been given but completely ignored?
Not to move to London because it would be too hard to find work in the fashion industry here, I did move and have lived here for six years now.
Do you think your work has affected the way you dress?
Yes, I need to be comfortable when shooting on location but I also get to dress up for special occasions which is always fun.
What was your journey like getting into the fashion world?
I started interning for FLARE magazine in Canada, which led to a job for a short while there. I then decided to move to London where I assisted Ellie Grace Cumming, being an assistant turned into being the Fashion Editor at Another Man magazine, and today I'm the Senior Fashion Editor for both HERO + HEROINE.
What's coming up for Peghah Maleknejad?
I recently began my role at HERO + HEROINE so my focus right now is on both magazines. I'm really excited to be working on our upcoming issues.
Finally, a question we ask all of our Preen Line girls - what are the top 3 tracks on your playlist right now?
- The Strokes, Automatic Stop
- Travis Scott, Sicko Mode
- Donne & Joe Emerson, Baby
