Rose Forde
Our first Preen Line Diaries muse of 2019 is Stylist and Creative Consultant Rose Forde. Based in London, Rose has worked with various brands, publications & famous faces and specialises in Menswear. We caught up with Rose at home in Camden Square to learn more.
Hi Rose. You contribute to PORT magazine as the Senior Fashion Editor, what do you love about the magazine?
It’s the perfect mix of great words and imagery and the magazine’s appreciation of art, architecture and design as well as fashion is reflective of my own personal tastes. Magazines now should be more like collectible art books - beautifully designed so you want to treasure and PORT definitely has that about it.
What attracted you more to menswear?
With my styling I explore character and narrative and am more driven by a sense of style than trends and must haves. I believe in menswear editorial there is more opportunity to feed off the outside influences that create fashion choices and create interesting worlds/lifestyles with my pages.
You also work with actors?
Yes, I saw an opportunity to make menswear on the red carpet more progressive and have an unique global platform for interesting sartorial choices. I also love working with talent from different fields and am lucky enough to work with hugely talented people.
If you could sum up Preen Line as a brand in a sentence, what would that go like?
The cool one
What is the best style tip you have been given, and ignored.
Wear more colour.
What is your go to playlist when you are working in the studio?
I only really listen to Jazz
Where in London do you call home?
Camden Square
What is your favourite London restaurant?
45 Jermyn Street
And finally, what is your ultimate goal for 2019?
I am returning to my roots in the arts and co-curating an exhibition at The Cob Gallery. I am also launching a digital art project combining my fashion experience.
